Anna Trono is associate Professor in Economic and Political Geography at the Department of Cultural Heritage, University of the Salento. She is an experienced researcher in tourism, environmental problems and urban planning in EU Countries and has published numerous papers and books on these themes, many of which in connection with large-scale projects involving international universities and under the aegis of EU research programs. As chief scientist or work-group member, she has worked on the preparation and management of many national and international (EU) research projects and organization of numerous national and international conferences. Her international academic activities included so far participation in many international conferences also as keynote speaker. She is member of IGU-CGoG Steering Committee (IGU-Commission Geography of Governance) and represents the Department of Cultural Heritage in the UNITWIN UNESCO Culture Tourism Development.
